The second Thursday of October each year is designated as World Sight Day, a day to remind us to cherish our vision and prioritize eye health. Our eyes serve as the window through which we perceive the world and protecting them is not only essential for personal well-being but also for appreciating and enjoying the beauty around us.

In the modern era of digital technology, our lives have become more convenient, but it has also presented new challenges for our eyes. Regardless of age or gender, we spend increasing amounts of time in front of electronic screens, leading to eye fatigue and dryness. Many young people are experiencing issues like dry eye syndrome. On World Sight Day, it is important to remind everyone about the significance of protecting our eyes and to take simple measures to maintain eye health.

Control screen time:

Limit the amount of time spent using electronic devices such as computers, tablets, and smartphones to reduce the strain on our eyes. Establish reasonable usage schedules and ensure regular pauses for our eyes to rest, relax, and recover.

Maintain good reading posture and adequate lighting:

Adopting proper reading positions and ensuring sufficient lighting can lessen the burden on our eyes, preventing fatigue and discomfort.

Embrace outdoor activities:

Spending extensive periods indoors can lead to eye fatigue and might increase the risk of near-sightedness. Going outdoors to enjoy sunlight and the natural environment can have positive effects on eye health.

Regular eye check-ups:

Regular eye exams are crucial for protecting our eyes. Early detection of vision problems allows for timely treatment and ensures eye health.

Choose eye-friendly foods:

Incorporate foods that are beneficial for eye health into our diet, such as tomatoes, carrots, blueberries, and other fruits and vegetables.
